FAMILY THERAPY

Healing Together, Growing Together

Every family has a unique rhythm, but that flow can be interrupted by conflict, life changes, or a simple lack of communication. We understand that when one person in the family struggles, the entire unit feels the weight of that impact. Family therapy offers a supportive, neutral space to address challenges collaboratively. We shift the focus from blaming an individual to understanding the patterns within the family dynamic. Our goal is to improve communication, strengthen your bonds, and equip everyone with the tools they need to thrive, both individually and as a unit.

Families seek therapy for a variety of challenges and life transitions:

• Persistent conflicts, arguments, or communication breakdowns

• Behavioral issues in children or adolescents at home or school

• Coping with major life transitions, such as divorce, remarriage, relocation, or the loss of a loved one

• Navigating major life changes as a couple

• Supporting a family member struggling with a mental health condition (e.g., anxiety, depression, eating disorders) or substance use disorder

• Healing from shared trauma or unresolved issues that span generations

Our Approach:

Functional Family Therapy (FFT)

FFT is a short-term, strengths-based approach that helps families with adolescents who are experiencing behavioral or emotional challenges. The focus is on improving communication, building motivation, and strengthening positive behavior patterns within the family. FFT supports lasting change by teaching families practical tools for resolving conflict and fostering healthier interactions.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

IFS is a compassionate, evidence-informed approach that helps individuals understand and harmonize the different “parts” of themselves—such as protective parts, wounded parts, and reactive parts. The focus is on cultivating the “Self,” the calm, centered core within each person, which can lead with clarity and confidence. IFS supports healing by reducing internal conflict, improving emotional regulation, and strengthening communication both within oneself and within family relationships.

Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT)

ABFT is centered on repairing and strengthening the parent–child relationship. This approach helps families create safety, trust, and deeper emotional connection, which is especially important for adolescents struggling with depression, anxiety, or suicidal thoughts. ABFT guides families through structured conversations that rebuild secure attachment and improve communication.
